‘Demand Dignity’ campaign iPhone App

Client: Amnesty International // applications and mobile // 10 December 2009

In December 2009, Amnesty International, the worldwide movement that campaigns for human rights for all, asked Jigsaw to create an iPhone app to drive brand awareness and build support for its global ‘Demand Dignity’ campaign. This is a global campaign designed to raise awareness of poverty and human rights issues.

The app is based around a candle icon that followers can light via a voice command, using the iPhone’s accelerometer, to show their support for the campaign and champion the cause.

The app enables campaign supporters to add their name to the Demand Dignity petition, access more information, and make donations through PayPal. The app launched initially in the UK, US and Australia.

Jigsaw’s sister companies Mobile Interactive Technology (MIT) and Kilrush are also involved in the campaign. MIT powers international SMS interactivity, enabling users all over the world to express their views on poverty and human rights, while Kilrush built the mobile internet site for the campaign.
